From AI Answers to Guided Learning
What makes an AI tutor more useful than a tool that simply answers questions? We’ll explore how educators can design activities in which AI draws on approved course materials to guide students through questions, practice and feedback. We will also discuss where this approach can support learning at scale, and how educators remain in control of the learning goals and experience.
SESSION 3 · 24 NOVEMBER
Rethinking Assessments in the Age of AI
When students can use AI throughout an assignment, how can educators see what they understand and how they arrived there? We’ll explore ways to make student thinking visible through practice, feedback, reflection and spoken explanation. We will also discuss how activities such as simulations and oral defence can give students opportunities to demonstrate and deepen their learning.

Applied Learning: Designing AI-Supported Simulations
Explore how AI-supported simulations and role plays can help students practise applying knowledge in realistic situations. We’ll look at examples from the University of London’s microcredentials programme and discuss how to design activities that support practice and feedback.
